Love Your Body
67What is real beauty?
The eternal question asked by women throughout time: what is beauty? How can I become beautiful?
Beauty is being comfortable in one's own skin and loving yourself, despite your flaws. It is not attractive to constantly be thinking about how many pounds you have to lose or how baggy your eyes look. However, if you can embrace who you are then it is beautiful.
I recently learned this in my own life, I thought it was one of those cliches that was not really true. I thought in order to be beautiful I had to be thin, tall, and have long flowing hair. But then I realized something, I am never going to be that person. I am never going to be the model or the girl who gets asked if she models. For a long time, I was a girl who didn't get much attention from guys.
Then as I worked with my therapist and, as strange as it may sound, my horse; I found that I liked the person I am. My horse loved me for me, so why couldn't I do the same? My best friend asked me what I was doing that changed my looks. I told her I wasn't doing anything different. But when I started getting lots of dates, she did not believe that I wasn't doing anything. Surely I must be enchanting these boys with some spell because it was so sudden.
In a way I had enchanted them with a spell, with my confidence. My best friend that's a guy told me, "Dana, you look hot because you think you're hot and you aren't worrying about those insecurities." It took a guy to tell me what my new beauty regime was but once he told me, it all seemed so obvious.
Beauty is rooted in confidence.

Very true. I myself make a live example who was so insecure and concious about self, beauty, looks, blah blah. But now I've everything when I've that damn confidence. Truly said and fantastic hub :)
Amen to that! :-) Let the inner beauty radiate by loving and accepting the self.
couldn't agree more!
