My first song that my parents sang to me was not "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" or "Old McDonald Had A Farm." Instead, while I was still in the hospital, only hours old, my dad started singing Tom Petty songs to me. He tells me he sang "Learnin' To Fly" in the hospital but he's mixing my brother and I up because that song was released in 1991 and I was born in 1990. Instead he used to sing songs like "Breakdown" and "Don't Do Me Like That." I highly doubt that he knew that Tom Petty would still be my favorite artist at the age of 18. While all the other girls in my class were obsessed with The Spice Girls I was singing "Into The Great Wide Open." So by popular demand, here is what I consider the best Tom Petty songs.
